“Happy is the man who can make a living by his hobby” a quote from Pygmalion correctly states the success of two sisters-in-law putting their soul and spirit in a dream while living in different parts of the world; Radhika & Gauri Tandon’s Isharya, is a premium contemporary jewellery brand which I stumbled upon at IMC (an exhibition of women entrepreneurs primarily from Mumbai). An excellent blend of east meets west; everything seemed sophisticated yet dramatic with modern materials and age-old techniques. Their excitement of fusing wood, leather, mirrors etc.clearly showed as they used neon colours in resin and semi-precious stones set in 18 carat gold plated brass in lines like Bollywood glam, Gemrocks, Goddess, Jaali filigree, Louvre, Pyramid luxe or Serpent druzy.

Their intentionally India inspired range of chandelier earrings, intricate cuffs and cocktail rings are designed keeping in mind global aesthetics and are adorned by celebrities worldwide – Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Sofia Vergara, Selena Gomez, Hilary Duff etc. Season after season both domestic and global fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, L’officiel, Instyle etc. have given this brand its due. The stylists of popular American prime time shows like Modern Family, Gossip Girls, Dancing with the Stars and Entourage, too styled their T.V. personalities with fancy Isharya jewellery making it more popular, internationally.

With the India frenzy world over, this highly recommended brand is retailed in over 50 countries. Net-e-porter.com, Henri Bendel, Louise via Roma, Galeries Lafeyette, Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, Stanley Korshak, Bloomingdale Dubai and Anthropologie are some known stores cashing in on this fad by selling Isharya ornaments. Its participation in London and Mercedez Fashion Weeks, along with showcasing new collections twice a year at fashion accessories fair, New York and Paris, clearly states its arrival in the global fashion circuit.

I was suggested to look up Aza, Ravissant, Bombay Electric, Ensemble, Samsaara in Mumbai; and Evoluzione, Carma, Ravissant, Samsaara and Ensemble in Delhi. One can also find it in other cities like Pune, Ahemdabad, Chandigarh and Bangalore also.

Need I say more….like any other woman the excitement of dolling up never fades especially when the look is different!!!
