A Fashionable boudoir presents Jonas G. – men’s natty clothing line,
on Wednesday 29th May, 2013.
Jonas is French, born and brought up in the picturesque southern France region. At the age of 20, while still studying Textile and Surface Design at the reputed La Martinière-Diderot College in Lyon, he travelled to Delhi to learn first-hand about Indian embroidery techniques. During this time, he spent three months in a small workshop, sitting and working beside master craftsmen who were handcrafting extraordinary pieces of jewelled embroidery for luxury Indian fashion labels.
Within a year of returning home, Jonas found himself returning to New Delhi once again, this time to pursue his career.
He spent five years working with the French mother and daughter designer duo, Danielle and Chloé Le Bonnois, assisting them in the design of their playful yet refined children lines, ethnic-chic women’s fashion and accessories and beautiful Home Textiles. It was here that Jonas acquired a deep understanding of the workings of Indian production houses and the global textile export industry.
In 2010, he felt ready to launch his own label and spread his wings. He created with the talented Liane de Selys Longchamps, the accessories label ‘Joli Proudly made in India’, of which he is a Creative Director.
Only very recently did the Jonas G. story begin- Facing a real dearth of trendy men’s clothing in Delhi, especially within smaller budgets, Jonas decided to take things up in his own hands and design simple and fashionable male attire, with a retro yet very contemporary spirit. Using only fine yarn dyed cottons, he focused on the sobriety of discreet finishing rather than the eccentricity that often comes with a designer’s label. He strives at proposing a large choice of very affordable, easy to wear apparel for a modern-day man.
The Jonas G.’s dapper collections will be presented in exclusivity of ‘Les Parisiennes‘ which was founded a year ago by Catherine Prakash and Lucie Salaun. It is housed in a beautiful haveli, at Shahpur Jat, New Delhi.
Both, Catherine and Lucie enjoy taking great care in sourcing a mix of vintage items along with pieces which are specially made for the shop e.g. women’s wear and accessories, bed linen and soft furnishings, lighting, candles, decorative items, table linen and furniture. Their concept store also hosts a unique french cafe where the menu changes everyday offering quiches, salads, pasta, cakes, soups, Lavazza coffee, juices, soft drinks and a variety of teas. The menu and its ambiance makes this cafe a hot-spot amongst shoppers in this vicinity.
It’s a must for all modish shoppers to go along with your beaus to this store for re-constructing an entirely new reasonably priced smart-casual summer wardrobe with irresistible clothes and accessories which without much fuss helps to make a statement and obviously stand out in the crowd.
